Buyers are complaining about eBay's third-party checkout system, and complain they provide a bad buying experience. See the full story in today's AuctionBytes Newsflash.
Shoppers report error messages, links to seller's off-eBay website, being charged for shipping on listings that offered free-shipping, and that there are no clear links back to eBay after they have completed the transaction on the third-party checkout.
eBay has been working on a shopping cart so shoppers can purchase multiple items from multiple sellers, and this month eBay announced it was testing a "shopping basket" in the UK. It seems certain a unified shopping cart would mean the end of third-party checkout systems, but in the meantime, some shoppers are clearly frustrated.
What do you think? As a seller, do you use a third-party checkout system from your eBay management tool? And as a buyer, have you been forced to go through a 3P checkout for any recent eBay purchases? How was the experience?
